Here are some of the frequently asked questions we receive about camp. If you have further questions, please direct them to dovcamp@gmail.com.
Q: I’m an adult interested in volunteering at DOV camp as a staff member (teacher, counselor, kitchen helper, or other on site role). Can I do that?
A: We really appreciate your interest, and you are welcome to fill out this staff application form. We typically have more volunteers to help than we have spots to fill, so we cannot use everyone who is interested, but we will get back with you after you complete the form if we need your help.
Q: Is there a dress code at camp? What do campers typically wear?
A: We expect everyone to dress modestly at all times (no low cut tops, yoga pants, tank tops, spaghetti strap tops, and shorts or skirts must come to the knee even in the cabin). Beyond that, we don’t have any specific requirements. Most people dress casually (blue jeans and t shirts) for most of the day. Some choose to wear skirts or dresses for some of the evening activities or for the singing on Wednesday evening.
Q: Do you allow cell phones at camp?
A: We do not allow campers to use cell phones or other personal entertainment devices (including MP3 players, ipads, laptops, etc) during camp. We will collect them at the beginning of the week and give them back to you before you leave. Please know that if there is a need for a camper to check in at home (sick family member, college deadlines, etc) we will certainly make sure that can happen as often as needed!
Q: What should I bring to camp?
A: Click Here for a list of what to bring/not to bring to camp
Q: What is the drop off/pick up procedure?
A: When you drive up the group camp drive, there will be someone to meet you at the top of the drive. They will tell you your campers cabin number. You will drop off/pick up your camper at their specific cabin.
Q: When do I drop off/pick up my camper?
A: Campers may arrive on Sunday between 1 and 4 pm. Camp ends on Friday at 10 am. Please arrive at the campground promptly as all campers, staff, and directors have to vacate the campground very shortly thereafter.
